EMDR stands for eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing. The results can be fast and life-changing.

Some people have a single traumatic memory to work on and some have a number of memories. Your symptoms may have resulted in a diagnosis of PTSD or C-PTSD, or they may have led to depression, eating disorders or self-sabotaging behaviour patterns.

EMDR desensitises you to the distressing memories. They are not forgotten, but they no longer cause distress, physical anxiety or emotional flashbacks.

Finally, your body gets to relax. And you get to make life choices from a new place of self-belief and calm.

EMDR is an effective stand-alone treatment but it works very well in combination with psychotherapy and coaching.
